Aventus transforms enterprise operations with blockchain infrastructure
Aventus provides enterprise-grade blockchain solutions on Polkadot, delivering real-time transparency and security for supply chain, loyalty programs, and prediction markets.

Founded in 2016, Aventus specializes in enterprise blockchain solutions that address real-world business challenges across supply chain management, loyalty and rewards programs, and prediction markets. Operating on Polkadot, Aventus provides customized blockchain infrastructure with enterprise-grade service level agreements, helping traditional businesses adopt blockchain technology through proven, audited solutions tailored to their specific requirements.
Challenge: Fragmented enterprise systems require adaptable infrastructure
Enterprise supply chains face critical inefficiencies that undermine operational performance: outdated communication systems, fragmented data across multiple stakeholders, and lack of real-time transparency. When cargo moves through an airline supply chain, for example, dozens of businesses need instant access to shipment data—but each requires different permission levels and sees different information.
Traditional enterprise systems can’t solve these challenges. An effective solution requires deep smart contract customization capabilities to adequately address highly specialized operational requirements without compromising security or performance.
"Aventus Founders Alan Vey and CPTO Andrey Brozhko had really high standards for technology," explains Ellie Hyman, CMO at Aventus. "They wanted tech that was really malleable and customizable where you can kind of do whatever you want with it. Polkadot's technology was simply the best option for meeting those enterprise-grade requirements."
Aventus initially launched as an ERC-20 project on Ethereum in 2016, but the platform's constraints became apparent. As Aventus developed enterprise solutions, the team sought platforms that could provide the deep customization and protocol-level optimization that institutional clients required for mission-critical operations like airline cargo tracking, where delays could result in lost shipments and major operational disruptions.
Beyond technical limitations, businesses faced a fundamental education gap. "Everyone sees blockchain, they think crypto," notes Hyman. "They're like, 'We don't want a token. We don't want to get screwed over by the SEC. Leave us alone.'" Most enterprises had no idea blockchain could solve their core operational challenges.
Solution: Building customizable enterprise blockchain infrastructure on Polkadot
Recognizing these limitations, Aventus began evaluating blockchain platforms that could support the deep customization and performance requirements of their clients. The team discovered the Polkadot SDK (formerly Substrate) in 2017-2018, which provided exactly the "malleable and customizable" technology foundation they needed, eventually launching their Polkadot rollup (i.e., parachain) in August 2022.
Polkadot's modular architecture enabled Aventus to build custom runtime logic for each enterprise use case while maintaining the security and reliability that institutional clients demand. Rather than being constrained by generic smart contract limitations, Aventus could optimize blockchain behavior at the protocol level for specific use cases like real-time cargo tracking and high-volume loyalty program processing.
The platform's reliable infrastructure allowed Aventus to focus on what enterprises needed most—tailored solutions with white-glove service and clear explanations of blockchain's business value.
"We sit in the middle of being big enough that our technology is reputable with use cases and testimonials, but we're not so big that you lose that personal touch that enterprises need," explains Hyman. Polkadot's robust foundation enables this positioning by providing enterprise-grade reliability while allowing complete flexibility in solution design.
Results and impact

Building on Polkadot has enabled Aventus to deliver measurable outcomes across multiple markets. Their most significant validation came through comprehensive supply chain implementations that demonstrated clear improvements over traditional processes.
In airline cargo tracking deployments, Polkadot's reliable infrastructure combined with Aventus's customized solutions achieved dramatic efficiency gains:
- 90% reduction in communication and error incidents in airline cargo tracking
- 83% reduction in documentation time across supply chain operations
- 28% reduction in loading times for airline cargo
These improvements translated directly to operational cost savings, with airlines projected to save significant expenses annually through blockchain-enabled cargo tracking.
The success extended beyond supply chain applications. Aventus provides blockchain infrastructure on Polkadot for Enigmatic Smile, the backend technology provider for approximately 90% of the world's loyalty programs running through Visa and Mastercard. This high-volume implementation resulted in a 25% margin increase for Enigmatic Smile while processing massive transaction loads, demonstrating how Polkadot's scalable architecture supports enterprise-scale operations.
Most recently, Aventus expanded into prediction markets by providing the underlying blockchain technology for Sports Illustrated's prediction platform. This rapid deployment across a new industry sector showcases how Polkadot's flexible foundation enables Aventus to serve diverse business needs with proven infrastructure
What’s next
Aventus is leveraging Polkadot's reliable foundation to execute an ambitious expansion strategy. The company is implementing infrastructure updates that will introduce nodes, allowing participants to help secure their network while earning rewards, with proceeds strengthening Aventus's treasury for growth initiatives—all built on Polkadot's secure architecture.
Aventus has an aggressive target of launching 5-10 new app chains per year, leveraging their proven approach of combining enterprise-grade technology with dedicated client support. The company reports multiple enterprise partnerships in development across several of its core sectors, including supply chain and prediction markets.
This expansion strategy demonstrates how Polkadot's high-performance modular architecture enables projects to scale enterprise adoption efficiently. By building on Polkadot, Aventus can focus resources on delivering measurable business outcomes and providing the personalized guidance that enterprise clients require for successful blockchain adoption.
"Polkadot's modular SDK and shared security model gave us enterprise-grade reliability with unlimited customization capabilities. We could finally optimize at the protocol level for each vertical—supply chain, loyalty, prediction markets—without compromise."
