Polkadot Brazil Partners with ABcripto to Drive LATAM Expansion
Polkadot Brazil partners with the Brazilian Cryptoeconomics Association to expand access to quality education and encourage tech innovation in the LATAM region.

Polkadot Brazil announces an innovative partnership with the Brazilian Cryptoeconomics Association (ABcripto). This partnership was established through Sunset Labs, Polkadot's official representative in Brazil. Sunset Labs is responsible for developing the business of Polkadot and the Web3Foundation, the Swiss foundation that supports the protocol.
The main objective of this collaboration is to expand access to quality education, encourage technological experimentation, and drive the development of solutions in the Web3 universe. The agreement includes the creation and distribution of educational content about Polkadot and its rollups (i.e., parachains), which are blockchains designed to operate securely and scalably. These materials will be used in ABcripto initiatives and training programs, always in compliance with Polkadot guidelines.
ABcripto's Director of Education and Research, Fábio Moraes shared “This partnership is an important step toward fostering the sustainable development of the cryptoasset market in Brazil. Joining forces with a global leader like Polkadot and the Web3Foundation allows us to offer excellent education, strengthen sector governance, and stimulate innovation in the country.”

The initiative also opens the door to collaborations with Tensegrity, a strategic consultancy specializing in blockchain. This demonstrates the entities' commitment to building a more informed environment prepared for market challenges. Gustavo Joppert, from Polkadot and Sunset Labs, highlighted the importance of investing in education to develop leaders who know how to apply Polkadot technologies strategically, aligned with market needs. He believes that learning is essential to creating a robust digital economy and attracting international investment.
The pillars of the partnership include education, innovation, and the institutional strengthening of the digital asset sector in Brazil. The idea is to promote joint actions that improve the technical qualifications of professionals and encourage discussions on regulatory innovation and best practices in the market.
Polkadot's Advancement in Brazil
In addition to this new alliance, Polkadot has remained active in Brazil. In August 2024, the Business Development team entered into a partnership with the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR). Together, they launched a free blockchain training program with 60 spots. The course includes mentoring and the development of projects that can be incubated at the end of the process. John Rhodel Bartolomé, responsible for business development at Polkadot in Brazil, emphasized that this partnership with educational institutions aims not only to train professionals but also to develop technologies that can impact the economy.
UTFPR is also offering Rust courses, where 10 projects will be delivered to strengthen blockchain security and traceability.
